Colour Drenching - be brave

A personal favourite of mine, especially those dark moody tones. Colour drenching is the opposite of the feature wall, which is becoming an outdated trend. Walls, ceilings, woodwork, radiators and even furniture are painted the same colour this creates a cohesive and dramatic look in your rooms.

This paint technique makes a room look cozy, and moody and is an inexpensive way to make a huge impact in your home. Spaces look bigger, and the ceilings look taller as there’s no distinction between the wall and ceiling color. It also works well for overcoming the challenge of awkward spaces and ceiling recesses.

The best type of paint finish for this technique is a matt paint. This works best because it minimizes light reflection in the space. Be prepared to sand like crazy though, this paint finish will show all imperfections so be warned...preparation is key! Are you brave enough?
